Dear Friends,

‘What must I do to inherit eternal life?’ the man asks in the Gospel. Some people are not bothered about eternal life - they are only interested in this life! But for us it is a question that is real enough because it shapes the direction of our lives in this world and in the next. Sadly the man could not accept the challenge that Jesus put before him - to leave everything and follow him - because he was not able to give up his wealth. Jesus promises his disciples, who have given up all to follow him, that they will have rewards that go far beyond mere material riches.

Thanks to all who prepared the Harvest Lunch last Sunday as well as those who came to enjoy it. A great occasion!

Father James
