Newsletter 10.11.19.

Dear Friends,

In today’s second reading St Paul tells us that the Lord is faithful. No matter what happens he will not abandon us. He will give us strength, protect us from every form of evil and will keep us faithful to the love of God.

The Journey in Faith course continues next Sunday at 5 pm in the presbytery.

We are also taking names of children for First Holy Communion preparation classes. Please take a form, bring it back or send it to me.

This coming year, beginning with Advent, the Church is holding a Year of the Word. Throughout the year we will be holding events that focus on the Bible. I would like to set up a working group to organise these. Thanks to those who have already shown an interest.

 Father James

Today is Remembrance Sunday. At the Sacred Heart we will begin the Mass with two minute’s silence, in keeping with the observance of the nation.

Next weekend (16th/17th November) there will be an Appeal at all Masses on behalf of Support Cambodia.

Reverse Advent Calendar - our parish will take part in the ‘Reverse Advent Calendar’ again this November. From details on the fliers given out last Sunday, fill your own box or bag at home or bring items to church putting them in the Food Bank boxes. Filled boxes need to be returned to your church at the latest by weekend of 1st December so that the Food Banks can distribute the food in time for Christmas.

Minutes of the last PPC meeting of 22nd October are now online and hard copies are available in our churches.

On Monday 11th November Deacon Ron will lead us, the senior citizens of the previously formed group in North Walsham, in a service of Remembrance for members who have died. Everyone is welcome to join us at 12noon in the parish hall. This will be followed by light refreshments; please bring a lunch to share.
