Dear Friends,
In today’s Gospel in the evening of the first Easter Jesus comes to his own to give them the Spirit and his fruits: peace, joy and the power to forgive sins. Thomas is reluctant to embark on the adventure of faith until he sees the risen Lord for himself. Only then does he make his own personal and moving act of faith. Our faith depends on the eye-witness accounts of the apostles and of the women: ‘We have seen the Lord’.
Today is also Divine Mercy Sunday which takes on a special meaning in this Jubilee Year of Mercy. We will have extra prayers at the Sunday Masses to mark this devotion. Also the Polish community will meet at 3 pm in the church to say the Divine Mercy chaplet. This will be followed by refreshments in the parish hall. All are welcome to attend.
A big Thank You for your generous Easter offerings.
God bless you all.
Father James
