Dear Friends
We all like to see results. But it doesn’t always happen. It didn’t happen to Ezekiel who was not able to persuade Israel to turn back to the Lord. Paul had to contend with insults and hardships as well as a personal ‘thorn in the flesh’. Even Jesus doesn’t get a hearing from his own people. For God fidelity to his call is more important than successful results. That is the point of today’s parable. The sower of seed has to make the seed generously available: it will take root where it finds good soil. Success is God’s gift. What is needed from the disciple is fidelity.
We welcome Father Luke Goymour who will celebrate the Masses this weekend.
God bless

Share the Journey Parish Walk To recap: A wonderful walk took place in the sunshine along the Weavers Way Sunday fortnight ago and added 156 miles to CAFOD’s ‘Walk Around the World’ in support of refugees. Those who were unable to do the walk supported the stalls in the Parish Hall and all signed cards to be sent to the PM requesting that she work with other world leaders to ensure that global compacts are met on human dignity, protection of the vulnerable, tackling the reasons for migration and keeping families together. £200 has been sent to the Refugee Community Kitchen in Calais.
