Pictures from Battambang [centre of the Diocese] taken yesterday [6th October] by Father Totet, showing serious flooding in the town. The Diocesan Centre and church are the other side of the river, across the bridge in the picture! The area below the bridge is normally a park and pleasure area. The second picture shows one of the main streets near the town centre.
Father Totet says there has been no loss of life in Battambang but the flooding is incredibly disruptive to daily life and many of the poorest houses along the riverfront have been inundated.
