Support Cambodia’s special projects in 2014 have been a] funding two teachers + equipment at Dai Lo Kindergarten and b] providing a water tower and gas installation at the Church Centre in Svay Sisopon. Next year the focus will be on POIPET, where we intend to support the “Mother of Peace Student House Project” and in PONGRO VILLAGE where we will part-fund the proposed Day Care Centre.
The Poipet Student House Project gives poor girls in Grades 6 – 9, many from broken homes, the chance to continue their schooling in a safe environment and thereby gain entry to high school. It costs £35 [$50] a month for each girl, to include everything she needs. The Pongro Day Care Centre will care for 30 – 40 under 6’s who are not at school and have no-one to look after them during the day. The Centre, costing an estimated £3000 [[$5000] to set up, will provide food and basic education/health care in a secure place for these very needy children.
