Father David’s last day as Parish Priest of Sacred Heart, North Walsham. In one way, so sad [with many tears and goodbye hugs] but also a joyful celebration of the nine-and-a half years we have been blessed with his wonderful ministry. In glorious sunshine, around 300 people gathered at a Bring and Share lunch to say goodbye and thank you to a very special friend and inspirational priest. During the lunch, Fr David was presented with a cheque, a tribute book and a picture of local landmarks.
Father David visited Cambodia four times during his time as Parish Priest, always with great enthusiasm and his active support has contributed hugely to the success of our parish twinning with Svay Sisophon. A message from Father Rajat enabled our friends at Sisophon to also share in his final celebration. Father David will take up his new appointment at Diss in the autumn and who knows… a little bit of Cambodia might even go with him!!!
Okoon Charen, Lokopok David [thank you very much, Father David] We will never forget you .”Go in peace and may God’s Word light your way: go in peace and know that for you we pray: go in peace, to follow Christ, day by day” [from the song by John Schiavone]
