TODAY we are celebrating the joy of Christ’s Ascension (moved from the Thursday to Sunday). It is also World Communications Day 2014 and there will be a Second Collection for the Catholic Communication Service. Do pick up a World Communications Day information/prayer card from the back of the church.
We warmly welcome Fr Michael Griffin to our parish and hope he will enjoy his next three months with us in our three communities.
CHANGES TO OUR MASS TIMES Over the summer months there has to be a number of changes to our usual Mass times starting week commencing Monday 9th June. Please check with this bulletin to be aware of the new schedule.

Walsingham: (A reminder) the Senior Citizens will be making their annual pilgrimage to Walsingham on Monday 7th June and Fr Michael will be accompanying us. Other parishioners are warmly invited to join us: the coach leaves the Sacred Heart at 10am, will be back by approx. 4pm. £5 per person towards the cost of the coach. DIOCESAN CELEBRATION OF MARRIAGE & FAMILY LIFE St John’s Cathedral, Norwich on Saturday 21st June at 11.00am. Those celebrating special anniversaries this year, are welcome to come to renew their Marriage vows also those who have welcomed a new baby in the last year, but all couples need to have registered that they will be attending: please contact Fr Michael with your details. A photographer will be there before Mass for individual photos. Please remember also that parking at the Cathedral is only available to Blue Badge holders.
FR MICHAEL JOHNSTONE (fr.mcjohnstone@tesco.net /01328 823586) is returning to Jamaica as a Volunteer with the Missionaries of the Poor in early January together with a small group. Anyone over 18 years interested in finding out more and possibly joining – please contact him. The only cost is the fare, for which we will try to arrange sponsorship opportunities.

INVOCATION 2014, held from Friday 4th to Sunday 6th July 2014 in the grounds of St Mary’s College, Oscott, is a national event, a mix of Faith and Friendship with over 500 other young people, aged between 16 to 30 years, who are seriously thinking about their commitment to Christ and their place in the life of the Church. The cost is £50 per person for the weekend. If you intend going please make contact with the presbytery: booking forms/travel arrangements are available online at www.invocation.org.uk Applications to be made by Sunday 8th June, especially if you need to use the transport provided by the diocese.
GIFT AID DONATIONS – Tax Year 2014/2015. Many thanks again to all our ‘gift aid’ donors, either direct via the bank or by weekly envelopes. To enable the parish claim to be acceptable, you should have been paying income or capital gains tax in the tax year 2014/15. Unless informed to the contrary we will be claiming tax on your behalf. Please advise Fr Michael if you have ceased paying tax. Gift aid envelopes for “one-off” donations are available in the porch. These may also be used by any visitors to our parish. Many thanks.
THE PLANT SALE has so far raised £702 for support Cambodia. Grateful thanks to all who supported or helped in any way. Plants can still be purchased after Sunday Masses at the Heart and St John of the Cross.

The family of Charles Cornish would like to thank you all for your good wishes and attendance at his funeral. The generous contributions in his memory for Farm Africa raised £500.
