Dear Friends,
Today’s Gospel is from the prayer of Jesus at the Last Supper. He prays for all who will follow him as disciples – this includes us. He is fully united to the Father and he prays that this unity will be seen among believers: a unity that is rooted in love.
Next Sunday we celebrate the feast of Pentecost. You are invited to come to church wearing something red as a symbol of the tongues of fire that revealed the presence and power of the Holy Spirit.
I have now had a cataract operation in both eyes and all is well. I hope to able to drive again from Wednesday of this week. Meanwhile my thanks to all who provided transport over the last three weeks.

Today, Sunday, is World Communications Day: there will be a retiring collection for the Catholic Communications Network.
Next Sunday is Pentecost Sunday. In the afternoon at St Nicholas Church, North Walsham, at 4pm there will be a “Pentecost Praise” Service. Fr James is the guest preacher.
The Senior Citizens Group (NW) meets on Monday 3rd June when there will be the usual morning activities followed by a quiz.
Looking ahead – on Monday 24th June the group will be having their annual Pilgrimage to Walsingham, led by Fr James. The coach will leave North Walsham at 10am and for the return leave Walsingham at 3pm. All are welcome to join them. £5 is asked for as a donation towards the cost of the coach. We pray for Thomasina Hopkins who died recently; we remember in prayer her family and friends. Her Requiem Mass is on Thursday 13th June at 12.30pm at the Sacred Heart Church.
