In his teaching Jesus used images and pictures that people would remember. In today’s Gospel he uses the simple but powerful images of salt and light to show how his disciples should keep their faith alive and active.

Today, Sunday, our morning Mass at North Walsham will be a Family Mass. The children who belong to our newly formed Cool Catholic Kids will be taking an active part in the liturgy. These Family Masses will be celebrated each month.
Next Sunday is ‘Racial Justice Day’ and there will be a retiring collection for the Catholic Association for Racial Justice.
The Senior Citizens’ Group (NW) meets on Monday 6th. In the morning there will be the usual activities – Computer Workshop, craft, and/or chair exercises plus coffee and a chat. Lunch is at 12.30pm. In the afternoon starting at 1.45pm Rob and Clare Hardie will be giving the “Living Simply” an overview: this should end around 3.00pm.
Flame: March 11th. Flame is the national Catholic youth event at Wembley arena aimed at those in Year 10 and above. 10,000 young people will gather to receive inspiration from world-class speakers interspersed with music from Grammy award winner Matt Redman, and times of prayer. The diocese is taking a group offering subsidised tickets and arranging transport. For more information go to: www.rcdea.org/youth for more details.

Journey in Faith. – next meeting for those who wish to learn about the Catholic faith is today, 5th February, at 5 pm in the presbytery.
Next Saturday, 11th February – Quiz & Puddings Night in the hall at 7 pm. Tickets on sale after Mass at £7.50. All proceeds will go to the Aylsham Development Fund.

We pray for Maureen Bailey and Peter Burnham who died recently and those whose anniversaries occur this week: including John Connolly, André Boucher and Anna Simpson. May they rest in peace.

Saturday 11th is World Day of Prayer for the Sick.
