Dear Friends,
Today we begin the week that we call Holy. We follow the last days of Jesus leading up to his arrest and his crucifixion. Our three communities come together for the services on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening. May they be a time of blessing for all of us.

For those travelling on the coach to the Chrism Mass at the Cathedral on Tuesday 11th April – the coach leaves our churches at the following times: 5.15pm at Aylsham: 5.35pm at North Walsham and 5.50pm at Hoveton. Please be punctual as it will not be able to wait for late-comers. A fare of £5 will be taken on the coach and a collection for the driver’s tip will be taken on the return journey. The coach leaves the Cathedral at approximately 9.45pm. Do be there!
The Collection at Masses on both the Easter Vigil on Saturday evening and Easter Day on Sunday is your Easter gift to Fr James. Please keep all other contributions to the parish until the following week.
The Triduum
On Maundy Thursday the Mass of the Lord’s Supper is at 7.30pm at North Walsham. A collection will be taken for CAFOD African Appeal. (Feet to be washed are needed: if offering, please inform Jeannie Marsden (Hoveton); Clare Hardie (Aylsham) and Antonia (North Walsham).
On Good Friday there will be a special service with the children at 11am. The Solemn Liturgy is at 3pm. Stations of the Cross at 7pm at Hoveton.
On Holy Saturday the East Vigil begins at 8.30 pm at the Sacred Heart.
There are no 12 noon Confessions next Saturday or evening Mass at Hoveton but there is morning Mass at Hoveton at 9.00 am on Easter Sunday.
The Senior Citizens’ Group’s (NW) next meeting will be Monday 24th.
Readers & Eucharistic Ministers: thank you for signing up; we will let you know shortly of your readings or altar service.
The Blessing of Food will take place at 2pm next Saturday (NW) this is particularly a Polish custom but anybody else is very welcome.
On Good Friday there are various Processions of Witness in the neighbourhoods of our three churches, usually starting at about 9.30am. In North Walsham it starts at Market Cross at 9.45 am., at
Hoveton at St John’s at 10am, calling at St Helen’s & St Mary’s and at Aylsham it starts at Bure Valley Railway, Norwich Rd at 9.30am.
A Spring Serenade concert at St John of the Cross is on Saturday 22nd April at 7.30pm. Michael Hawley with his musical friends from Sheffield will present a programme of light music, accompanied by Katie Maidment. Proceeds to St John of the Cross organ fund. Cambodia Twinning Celebration Mass at St John of the Cross at Aylsham on Friday 28th April at 7pm. The celebrant will be Fr. Philip Shryane from Gorleston. Details in the next newsletter.
