Dear Friends,
The Scribes and Pharisees who so often oppose Jesus were mostly good people who tried to live moral lives in fidelity to the Law. For Jesus that is never enough. What he calls people to is not simply the avoidance of evil but an intimate relationship with God. Equally for St Paul: for him the great virtue of the moral life is not will-power but faith – the ‘hidden wisdom of God’. In other words we don’t have to achieve salvation simply through our own efforts!

In our usual monthly letter of thanks from Cromer & District Foodbank it was pointed out that over the Christmas period they received an amazing and very welcome amount of food and as a result their food stocks at present are still looking fairly healthy. However, they continue to be short of Cuppa Soup, Tinned Fruit, Breakfast Cereal and Pasta. Please note: they are overstocked on Beans and Soup and do not need any more of these items. More information is on the notice board at the Sacred Heart.
