Dear Friends,
Today we celebrate one of the most solemn feasts of Our Lady. The central mystery of her life is her divine motherhood which we celebrate at Christmas. The Assumption completes God’s work in her since it was not fitting that the flesh that had given life to God himself should ever undergo corruption. The Assumption is God’s crowning of his work as Mary ends her earthly life and enters eternity. This feast also reminds us that where she has gone we too will follow when our earthly life is over.

Safeguarding in the Parish. It is vitally important that every parish has up-to-date information regarding those who, through their work in the parish, have contact with children or vulnerable adults. This applies particularly to ministers of the Eucharist and those involved in children’s liturgy or sacramental preparation. New volunteers will need a DBS check and existing checks will need to be updated. Charlotte Collison is the parish safeguarding rep and she can arrange for these checks to be done. You can contact her by email at: safeguardingnorthwalsham@gmail.com
