Todays readings are definitely apocalyptic in character! They look towards the last times and the return of Jesus in glory.
Today is also Remembrance Sunday when we call to mind those who gave their lives in the wars of the last century.
Sacramental Preparation. We have now reached the stage when we can begin classes for children to prepare them for their First Holy Communion and young people for Confirmation. Enrolment forms are now available in church porches; to be returned a.s.a.p. please.

Today is World Day of the Poor: next Sunday is the Feast of Christ the King, celebrated as Youth Day.
World Youth Day – this November 2021! All young people Year 7 upwards are invited to ‘World Youth Day East Anglia’ at the Cathedral on Saturday 20th November, 12pm-8pm. Parish Pastoral Council will have their next meeting on Tuesday 7th December at 7.15 for 7.30pm at St Helen’s Hoveton. If you have any matters you would like discussed, please let your representatives know. We are still in need of further nominations for new representatives!
Holy Hour & Eucharistic Adoration is on Thursdays at St Helen’s, at 3pm starting with the Three O’Clock Prayer & Chaplet of Divine Mercy.
A time for quiet reflection, meditation and contemplation. We pray the Holy Rosary after 3pm.

Advent Collections for the North Norfolk and Norwich Food Banks. North Norfolk and Norwich Food Bank would be very grateful if we could donate some Advent boxes this year. Lists of the items that are particularly needed are displayed at the back of each of our churches. Please bring your filled boxes to North Walsham or Aylsham or to Hoveton for the Norwich Food Bank by the beginning of December so the donated items can be distributed in time for Christmas.
Churches Together – North Walsham Remembrance Services will be held on Sunday at 10.30 am at St Nicholas Parish church and also at 2 pm in the North Walsham Memorial Gardens in the park. Wreaths can be brought to either venue. All are welcome.
