In the bible the vision of a banquet or wedding feast is an image of humanity dwelling with God. The Gospel parable uses this same image. The original guests have refused to attend; now all are invited.

Today we keep World Homelessness Day (10.10.17). A Bring & Buy cake stall and a coffee morning is in the Parish Hall after Mass. Donations of cakes, gifts appreciated. Proceeds shared between The Connection at St Martin-in-the Fields & Norwich Salvation Army. For details contact Clare Tuck (01603 736751).
Also today the Journey in Faith begins in the parish hall at 5 pm. This is for enquirers into Catholicism and is open to anyone else who would like a refresher course!
The Senior Citizens Group (NW) meets on Monday 16th with the usual activities in the morning. There will be a Healing Mass at 12noon, for all parishioners, followed by a shared lunch.
Next Sunday is ‘World Mission Day’ and there will be a retiring collection following the Mass for Missio. (The Association for the Propagation of the Faith).
CAFOD Harvest Fast Day. Thank you for your generous support. Our parish raised £915.38 (so far) which will mean more farmers in El Salvador will be able to support their families now and in the future. Please continue to pray for them and for CAFOD’s work with vulnerable communities across the world.
On Friday, 27th October, Bishop Alan will lead a Torchlight Procession of the Blessed Sacrament from Castle Mound to our Cathedral beginning at 8.00pm followed by an All Night Vigil.
Thanks to some very generous donors, Support Cambodia’s Annual Appeal has reached its target of £1,200 which this year goes to the Rice Soup/Baby Milk Programme in Svay Sisophon. On behalf of all those who will benefit, a big ‘thank you’ to everyone who contributed.
Support Cambodia’s Annual Race Night is on Saturday, 28th October at the Sacred Heart Parish Hall at 7pm. Proceeds to the Rohal Microcredit Project. Tickets (£1), horses (£5) and jockeys (£3) are on sale after the weekend Masses or call 01263 577784 or email via www.supportcambodia.org.uk events.
The Flower Arranging team at the Sacred Heart is in need of more arrangers; please contact Kate on 01692 404412. The turn of an arranger generally occurs once a month depending on how many are in the team.
We pray for our sick parishioners especially Margaret Wynes.
We remember all those whose anniversaries occurred last week including: Deanna Gawlina, Mary Merrill, Wladislaw (Val) Tanistra, Catherine (Kay) Higgs and Arthur Pitman.
Also those that occur this week including: David Pugh, John Perrin and Margaret (Peggy) Trevallion.
