TODAY is Gaudete Sunday (3rd Sunday of Advent). There is a 2nd Collection for the Dependent Priests’ Fund; for those who “gift aid” there are envelopes especially for that Fund at the back of the church. We will again be praying the Angelus before the start of Mass – this beautiful prayer with a focus on the Incarnation. Do make sure you have our Advent leaflet giving details of Services during Advent and Christmas Mass times.
PARISH CAROL SERVICE is next Sunday (22nd) at 3pm in the Sacred Heart Church. A further opportunity to come together in celebration, to listen to the Word of God and sing carols. Do come and fill the church. Mulled wine and mince pies will be served after the service. There is an open invitation to families and friends.
Children’s Party follows the Service in the Parish hall at 4pm (regrettably, only for the children who have signed up).
SENIOR CITIZENS’ GROUP – Monday 16th December – Christmas Lunch at the Wayford Bridge Inn at 12 for 12.30pm. There are no further meetings until Monday 13th January 2014.
JOURNEY INTO FAITH – Wednesday afternoon at 2.30pm in the Presbytery.
CAROL SINGING (organised by Churches Together) takes place in
Roys at Wroxham on Tuesday 17th December at 5.30pm.

HOVETON: VOLUNTEERS NEEDED to help with counting St Helen’s collections – normally for about 30 minutes after Saturday evening Mass, once every seven weeks or so, less if more people volunteer! Please contact Peter Walmsley.

Family Mass – The Sacred Heart Church, North Walsham at 6.00pm.
Midnight Mass -The Sacred heart Church, North Walsham (Carols from 11.40pm)
Christmas Day:
St John of the Cross, White Hart Street, Aylsham at 9.00am.
St Helen’s Horning Road West, Hoveton at 10.30am.
The Collection taken at these Christmas Masses is the traditional Christmas gift to your priest. Any regular Sunday collection envelopes for Parish Funds should be held until the following weekend (Sat 28th/Sun 29th).
SUPPORT CAMBODIA: Gift Cards at £5, £10 & £15 (similar to CAFOD World Gifts) will be available at all Masses this weekend. A small selection of Cambodian Crafts are also on sale at Aylsham and North Walsham today. For those who wish, there will also be an opportunity to make financial donations to Cambodia at all weekend Masses up to Christmas (there is a basket at the back of church). If possible, please consider ‘Gift Aiding’ all purchases and donations using the designated envelopes. Thank you for supporting Cambodia.

NEW YEAR EPIPHANY CANDLELIGHT MASS for young people across the diocese is on 4th January at 6pm at The White House, Poringland. All the family welcome. We pray for David McGee who died last week and we remember his family and friends in our prayers: his Funeral Mass is at St John of the Cross, Aylsham on 23rd December at 1.30pm. We pray also for all those whose anniversaries occur at this time, including Mary Elizabeth (Lily) Smith, Teresa (Tess) Semple, Irene Brown, Brian Stanley Patrick Barby, Molly Joan Harland and Bridget Bennett.
