Today’s Gospel reading describes the different ways in which Martha ands Mary welcomed Jesus. Both women offer Jesus hospitality . The ‘one thing necessary’ is to listen to the word of Jesus and to put it into practice.
We welcome Father Denys Lloyd who has kindly agreed to celebrate the Masses this weekend.

The Annual General Meeting of the parish takes place on Monday, 25th July in the hall at North Walsham, 7.00 for 7.30pm. Aylsham to provide the main course, North Walsham the desserts. Please sign your name to the lists in church porches. It is both an enjoyable and interesting evening – do come!
Training Session – Those of you who volunteered to become fire marshals at our three venues, please note, the official training session takes place at St Helen’s on Wednesday 27th July at 7.00pm. It will be run by North Walsham Fire Service and will last approximately two hours. Please note – we do still need more volunteers! Ideally, four from each church.
Minutes of the PPC Meeting held on Tuesday 14th June are now available on both the parish website and in printed copies now in our church porches.
A date for your diary. On Sunday 31st July Fr James has his annual Garden Party in the presbytery garden. It will take place in the afternoon following the Mass; further details of what he has in mind will follow. Being his last, hopefully we can make sure it is one to remember.
Every Sunday from 10.30am Faithful Flames Children’s Group meets in the parish hall at the Sacred Heart: this is for all children up to the age of 16. It would be great to see you! Kerry – 0750 4048352
Holy Hour & Eucharistic Adoration is on Thursdays at St Helen’s at 3pm – a time for quiet reflection, meditation and contemplation.

‘Norwich Pilgrimage’ The Secular Franciscans of Norwich invite you to walk it with us on Sunday 17th July. Starts 12noon with a bring your own picnic at St John’s Cathedral; process to Mother Julian’s Shrine for prayer then on to the Anglican Cathedral for evensong. Family friendly. North Walsham Civic Service A Civic service will be held at St Nicholas Parish Church at 3pm on Sunday 24th July. Clir Gary Bull and the Rev David Warner would be delighted to welcome you. Refreshments after the service.

Frances Hall wishes to thank all the many friends from St Helen’s for Masses said for her daughter Denise; also for the prayers and good wishes, for the many cards she has received which have been a great comfort to her. A special ‘thank you’ goes to Fr James for his great support.
