Dear Friends,
Today’s Gospel reminds us that ministry in the Church is about service not domination . True Christian greatness consists in serving others, not in playing the master. This was a lesson that James and John had to learn from the Lord who washed the feet of his friends and gave his life in the ultimate act of service.
We are planning to begin classes for First Communion preparation next month. Please let us know if you have a child of First Communion age.
Next Sunday the Journey in Faith classes begin at 5 pm in the presbytery.
Father James

Two vacancies on the PPC, (Parish Pastoral Council) as Frances Green (Sacred Heart) and Rob Hardie (St John of the Cross) are both due to step down from representing their respective communities. We need your nominations for new members to take their places. This is important for our parish so PLEASE, take action! Consider who you feel would be a suitable and interested representative. Nomination forms are available in the two church porches. Our grateful thanks go to Rob (as Chairman) and Frances.
An Open Morning at St Francis of Assisi School is on Tuesday, 6th November from 9.30-10.30 am. If you are looking for a place for your child in Reception Class next year there is an information evening on Thursday, 15th November 15th at 7 pm.

Please note that the Parish, apart from Aylsham, will NOT be participating in the Samaritan’s Purse Shoe Box appeal this year. If you wish to make up a box you will need to take it to your nearest centre.
