“Pride changed angels into devils; humility makes persons into
angels.”
The main theme of this weekend’s Gospel is that true humility and repentance for our sins must be the hallmark of our prayer. However, the central focus of the parable is not on prayer itself, but rather on the evil of pride, the need for true humility, and the role of God’s grace in our salvation.

Today is World Mission Day and there will be a retiring collection for Missio (APF). This is a day when the whole Church unites in
prayer for its missionary activity and the funds collected go to support catholic communities world-wide living in poverty and privation.
Tuesday 1st November, All Saints’ Day, is a Holyday of Obligation. Mass times will be published in next week’s newsletter. Wednesday 2nd November is the feast of All Souls when we commemorate all the Faithful Departed. Our Book of Remembrance has been placed at the sanctuary step for you to write in names of your departed loved ones and all those you wish to remember.
Faithful Flames Children’s Group meet in the parish hall at 10.30am today, Sunday. This is for all children up to the age of 16. It will be great to see you! Kerry – 0750 4048352.
Special request: Faithful Flames would very much appreciate any donations of toys, games etc., including crafting materials, that could be used in their sessions.
Holy Hour & Eucharistic Adoration is on Thursdays at St Helen’s at 3pm – a time for quiet reflection, meditation and contemplation.
A Christmas Party has been arranged by Faithful Flames Children’s Group for Saturday 17th December at 2pm – 5pm in the Parish Hall in North Walsham. Please sign your names to the sheets in the church porch or speak to Kerry on 07504 048352 for more details.
Parish Pastoral Council Elections. Nominations are requested for a new representative for the Sacred Heart and St Helen. Please pick up a nomination form from the table in the church porch.

The Missionary Appeal, given the weekend of 24th/25th September by Sr Elonna from the Daughters of Divine Love: please see the poster they sent in grateful thanks. We raised £814.49
World Youth Day. Kerry and Lauren are busy preparing fundraising events to raise money ahead of their World Youth Day trip to Portugal next year with the Diocese but, they need your help!
Any kind of donation, no matter how big or small will be really appreciated. Please keep an eye out for fundraising events over the Christmas period. Thank you in advance.
