Dear Friends,
What’s in a name? Actually quite a lot! To know a person’s name and be able to use it says something about the relationship we have with them. In today’s 1st reading God entrusts Moses and, through him, the people, with his own name. This changes the nature of the relationship which is now a personal and intimate one. The Gospel challenges its listeners to examine their relationship with this God. It is a clear call to repentance which echoes the Lenten call to return to the Lord ‘with all your heart’!
God bless
Father James
