The workers in today’s parable all need their denarius – the word means a day’s wage. The story challenges us to see things the way God sees them and live according to the Lord’s ways rather than according to the ways of market forces.
The Journey in Faith will begin on Sunday, 15th October at 5pm in the church hall in North Walsham. This time, as well as enquirers, everyone is welcome to attend. Spread the word….
We also have a group of young people who will begin their preparation for Confirmation. Please let me know if you wish to join them.

Senior Citizens Group (NW) meets on Monday 25th when there will be the usual activities in the morning followed by a Quiz in the afternoon.
An IMPORTANT reminder. The APF Red Missio Boxes need to be in by the END OF SEPTEMBER THIS YEAR, please. This is to enable any of the old £1 coins to be banked before they cease to be legal tender on 15th October.
CAFOD Harvest Fast Day is on Friday 6th October. We are reminded – what we save by “going without” on Friday we are invited to put in the CAFOD envelope which will be distributed (or available in church porches) next Sunday (1st October) and returned in a retiring collection after Mass, Sat 7th/Sun 8th.
World Homelessness Day 10.10.17. A Bring & Buy cake stall; coffee morning on Sunday 15th Oct in the Parish Hall after Mass. Donations of cakes, gifts appreciated. Proceeds shared between The Connection at St Martin-in-the Fields & Norwich Salvation Army. For information contact Clare Tuck (01603 736751).
Support Cambodia Annual Appeal for the Rice Soup & Baby Milk Programme in Svay Sisophon remains open until Sunday 1st October. This Sunday (24th) at St John of the Cross there is a Student Concert at 3pm in aid of the Appeal. Admission free. Retiring collection. Afternoon tea. Plants & produce for sale. Next Saturday, 30th September, Stefano and Rebecca Carnemolla, who were married in Italy earlier this month, invite their friends in the parish to a ceremony of blessing in the Sacred Heart church at 11.30am Beccy was baptised at the Easter Vigil this year. All are welcome!
Anyone, at the Sacred Heart church, who would like to join the Flower Arranging team please contact Kate on 01692 404412. An arranger’s turn generally occurs once a month depending on how many are in the team.
We pray for our sick parishioners especially Margaret Wynes and John Bolger.
We remember all those whose anniversaries occur this week including: Godfrey Fahey, William Blewett, Michael Page, John (Jack) Breen and Ada Gratia. May they rest in peace.
