On Wednesday we begin the season of Lent with the Blessing of Ashes at each of our churches. Today Bishop Alan has written a Pastoral Letter which will be read at all the Masses this weekend.
Details and booking forms for the parish trip to France in October are now in the church. Please send them in as soon as possible.

Ash Wednesday, 1st March, is a day of Fast and Abstinence. Mass will be celebrated at Hoveton – 9.30am: N Walsham – 11.00am and at Aylsham – 7.00pm.
Stations of the Cross during Lent will be held at N Walsham on Fridays at 12noon: at Aylsham also Fridays at 12noon and at Hoveton on Wednesdays following the Mass
The Senior Citizens’ Group (NW) meets on Monday 20th. In the morning there will be the usual activities – Computer Workshop, craft, and/or chair exercises plus coffee and a chat. Lunch is at 12.30pm when there will be a “Pancake Race”! In the afternoon at 1.45pm Teresa will continue talking about ’recycling textiles’ as part of the Live Simply Campaign. Next Monday Father James is giving a Lenten Reflection. All are welcome.
Women’s World Day of Prayer, Friday 3rd March. Services will be held (Aylsham) at Salvation Army Hall, Hungate St., Aylsham: Services at 2.30 & 7.30pm. Written by Christian women of the Philippines. Brightly coloured clothes please! (N Walsham) held at the Congregational Church, Cromer Rd at 2.00pm. (Aylsham) at Hickling Methodist Church at 2pm. Light refreshments are served afterwards and all are welcome at these services, including men.
The Minutes of the PPC Meeting of 7th February are now on the Parish Website and on church noticeboards.
Journey in Faith. – next meeting for those who wish to learn about the Catholic faith is on 5th March at 5 pm in the presbytery.
Friday 10th March is the CAFOD Lent Fast Day. Please take an envelope today or next Sunday and bring it back with your donation to CAFOD the following Sunday.
Live Simply Award. Next weekend, 5th March, you will be given a short questionnaire as you arrive in church. Please would you complete the questionnaire whilst in church and it will be collected as you leave. This is to help us show CAFOD how we are doing working towards gaining our Live Simply Award and what small changes we all are trying to achieve.

With the gardening season fast approaching, a reminder that the Support Cambodia Plant Sale is only 3 months away on May 20th. Your help in growing extra plants/potting up your cuttings would be much appreciated to make this its usual success.
We pray for Agnes Clark who died recently and those whose anniversaries occur this week: including: Josephine (Jo) Ringer, Colin Johnson, Agnes Daniels, Livia Bligh, Henry (Harry) Trainor, John Broom and Ann Carty. May they rest in peace.
