A WARM WELCOME TO ANY VISITORS with us this Bank holiday weekend especially to our visitors from Aylsham’s French twining town – La Chaussee-Saint-Victor. Do stay for coffee after Mass and meet some of our parishioners.
Today is The Most Holy Trinity: We welcome and thank Fr Peter Brown for celebrating our Masses this morning: Fr David is visiting the Sudbury parish.
It being the Bank Holiday, Mass on Monday will be at 10.00am.
Next Sunday we will be celebrating the Most Holy Body & Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi) Solemnity. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and Benediction will be held at 4.00pm – 5.00pm in the Sacred Heart Church; Pope Francis will also be spending an hour in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament at the same time in Rome and has asked all Catholic parishes to do the same. This is part of the “Year of Faith” celebrations. Please do come along.
The Rosary in May (N Walsham) is said today at 10.30am prior to Mass – similar arrangements for Aylsham (8.30am) and Hoveton. Leaflets on how to pray the Rosary are available – 30p each; proceeds to Cambodia.
PARISH OPEN MEETING last Monday evening – our thanks go to everyone who contributed or helped in any way, especially to hosts Hoveton and North Walsham who provided a superb spread. It was a very interesting and enjoyable evening.
Parish Accounts – copies for those who couldn’t attend the meeting are in the porch.
CHILDREN’S PILGRIMAGE to Walsingham is this Tuesday 28th May (during half-term). Procession from the village starts at 10.45am: Mass at 12noon in the Chapel of Reconciliation followed by a picnic in the meadows. Hopefully the day ends on the beach at nearby Wells-Next-the-Sea. Children provide the music for Mass, serve and read. This is always a great day – do try and come along.
PARISH FETE Raffle tickets to be drawn at the Fete (Sun 23rd June) are on sale: proceeds, split three ways, Cruise Bereavement, Cromer Foodbank & Support Cambodia. Last week’s insert gives the necessary information on getting your contributions to specific stallholders – more fliers on these details in the church porch.
Do please do your utmost to support the Fete in every way you can: look amongst your possessions to see if there is anything that you can part with, that will make a sale. This is a splendid opportunity to raise considerable sums for our charities and have a great day of family fun at the same time

PARISH VISIT As part of the Year of Faith we will be making a Parish Visit to St John’s Cathedral on Wednesday 2nd October. A coach will take us down in time for Mass at 11am, followed by a tour of the Cathedral and Tower, then lunch in the Narthex before returning home at about 3pm. Keep the date free – details to follow.
SENIOR CITIZENS’ GROUP – No meeting (27th) it being the Bank Holiday.
SUPPORT CAMBODIA Thank you very much to everyone who supported the Plant Sale last weekend and especially to Adrian Rudman and his team of helpers for organising it. The total raised to date is over £900 – an excellent result – and we hope to add to this with a plant sale after Mass this weekend and possibly next. All monies will go directly to Svay Sisophon with no admin costs.
All are invited to the Open Meeting at St Helen’s on Saturday 8th June at 10.30am for an update on how we are continuing to support our twin parish plus sale of Cambodian Crafts and refreshments: details on 01263 577784.
