Dear Friends,
God chooses to work with frail weak human beings like Peter – and each of us! In Paul’s words that is the key aspect of the riches of the depths of God – and the extraordinary love and dignity that God offers humanity.
I shall be away for two weeks from 10th September. Father Gavin Small, a retired priest from Australia who stayed in the parish last year will hold the fort in my absence.
The Journey in Faith will begin on Sunday, 15th October at 5pm in the church hall in North Walsham. This time, as well as enquirers, everyone is welcome to attend. Spread the word….
Father James
Friday 1st September is the ‘World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation’. This will be the theme of the Service at 10.30am in the garden at North Walsham on Saturday 2nd September. It is followed by Mass at 12noon in the church.

On Monday, 4th September, the NW Senior Citizens will be making their annual Pilgrimage to Walsingham. The coach will leave the Sacred Heart carpark at 10.00 am and leave Walsingham at 3.00 pm. I have booked a smaller coach this year but there will be a few seats available for any parishioners who would like to join us. Contribution towards coach hire will be £5 per person. I can be contacted on 01692 405007 or 07901 830327 for anyone who would like to book a seat on the coach. Teresa Butler.
The Annual Riverside Ecumenical Service at Hoveton is today (Sunday) at 3.00 pm on the Pocket Park (behind Roy’s Car Park). If the weather is inclement it will be held in Saint Helen’s Church. It would be good to see more representation from the Catholic community.
Norfolk Churches Trust will be running the annual Sponsored Bike Ride & Walk on Saturday 9th September.
Jenny Copeman’s Requiem Mass is on Thursday, 30th August at 1.30 pm in the church at North Walsham.
Steven, Laura and Ann Gibbs would like to say a huge thank you to all the people who cleaned and prepared the Sacred Heart church so beautifully for George and Harry’s baptism on Sunday 13th August. Thank you also to Father James for a lovely service. It was such a special day for us.
We have been asked to pray for Margaret Wynes who is seriously ill.
We pray for Dudley Hardingham who died last week also for Jenny Copeman who died recently and all whose anniversaries occur this week including: Florence Loads, John Mardon, Christine Miller, Kenneth Jameson, Leokadia Lloyd, Christina Quinn, Catherine (Kitty) Brooder and Anthony Conrad.
May they rest in peace.
