Dear Friends,
Today’s Gospel is a school of prayer. Jesus tells us that we learn to pray, not necessarily from the religious person but the sinner. Prayer is about God and how I stand before God – in truth and in humility.
The Journey in Faith course will begin next Sunday, 3rd November at 5 pm in the presbytery. It is for those who wish to explore the teaching of the Catholic Church as well as anyone who would like to have a ‘refresher’ course.
We are also taking names of children for First Holy Communion preparation classes. Please take a form, fill it in and bring it back or send it to me.
This coming year, beginning with Advent, the Church is holding a Year of the Word. Throughout the year we will be holding events that focus on the Bible. I would like to set up a working group to organise these. Please let me know if you are interested.
Father James
This coming Friday is All Saints; it is a Holy Day of Obligation. This coming Saturday is All Souls Day.
We welcome Jonathon Ellis who was recently received into full communion with the Catholic church.
