Dear Friends,
Today we celebrate the two great ‘founding fathers’ of the Church – St Peter and St Paul. It would be hard to find two men more different in background, culture and temperament! Yet between them they gave to the early Church a conviction and energy that it needed to survive and grow. Each had his place in the development of the faith. Peter, the guide, by his role of direction: Paul, the sower, by his missionary zeal. Both were martyred in Rome.
As I write this the warm summer sun is lighting up the garden – let’s hope it continues for the Summer Fete next Sunday. This afternoon I shall be enjoying a strawberry tea at the home of Clare and Rob Hardy. Tickets are still available after Mass.
God bless you all,
Father James
