Dear Friends,
Today’s Gospel is about prayer. First we have the Lord’s own prayer to his heavenly Father. Jesus follows this with a teaching on prayer that emphasises persistence in prayer. He assures his listeners of the goodness of God who only wants the best for his children. We pray so that we may understand the ways of God and develop a relationship with the one who knows what we need. Prayer is not about changing God, but to ask God to change us, to form us as his children.
God bless
Father James
