1st Sunday of Advent 2020.

Advent is a time of preparation, conversion and renewal. Pope Francis encourages us as we enter into the season: ‘Advent, a time of grace, tells us that it is not enough to believe in God; it is necessary to purify our faith every day’. In today’s first reading Isaiah says: ‘O that you would tear the heavens open and come down’. Once again, at the beginning of Advent, this cry reaches towards God, borne up by the assurance that our salvation has been achieved, though not yet fully worked out. Our God has indeed come in the person of his Son, Jesus Christ.
When the national lockdown ends next week we will resume public Masses in our churches. If you wish to attend a Sunday Mass you need to book a place with the co-ordinator for each church:
