Dear Friends,
Today’s feast reminds us that to be a disciple is not about being strong or clever; the Lord only asks for our love. This is what both Peter and Paul show us, each in a different way. It is the Lord who calls and who empowers. What is needed is a response to that call. As Paul says: ‘it is the Lord who stood by me and gave me power’.
Last Sunday’s First Holy Communion Mass was a great occasion and a memorable one. Our prayers and good wishes to the children and their families.
Today we celebrate and, together with Inge and his family, give thanks for Deacon Ron O’Toole’s 40 years as a permanent deacon especially his time in our parish community.
A date for your diary! On Saturday, 27th July, there will be a Parish Summer Party from midday to 3 pm. Weather permitting there will be tables and chairs in the garden with hot dogs, salads, puddings and a bar. My family will be here for a long weekend. This time two of my nieces with be there with their children (all under 5!). Just a fun, relaxed time that brings together all three of our communities.
God bless
Father James
